Cream o' Galloway Dairy Company was established in 1994 and began making quality ice cream and frozen yogurt using milk from our own dairy in Rainton Farm.
200,000 litres of Ice cream are currently made each year.

Development of Cream o' Galloway Visitor Attraction also began in 1994. We now offer 4 miles of nature trails, two of which are accessible for those in wheelchairs or with buggies; a tearoom selling organic and local produce, an adventure playground and an opportunity to learn more about ice cream making. Oh, and of course a chance to sample some of the thirty flavours of delicious ice cream and frozen yogurts, only made here. We now welcome over 60,000 visitors each year.

    Nature Trails

We have converted 80 acres of farm land into areas primarily for the benefit of people and wildlife. We planted 30,000 native broadleaved trees over the winter of 2001/2002. We have created two ponds that are regularly used by birds, especially swallows in the summer.

Two miles of surfaced trails suitable for those with buggies and wheelchairs were constructed early in 2002 and offer a great opportunity to get close to the ponds and newly created woodland, while offering good views of local hills and the Solway Firth. Picnic tables next to the ponds offer a peaceful chance to rest and watch the passing wildlife.

An additional mile and a half allow those with sturdy footwear to explore rough tracks through fields and into a mature woodland. Running quietly through the woods is a gentle stream.

    Playground

The adventure playground at Cream o' Galloway provides hours of fun for all ages.
Built almost entirely in-house, you'll find play structures here that you've never seen before. There are tunnels and chutes, towers and climbing ropes, a mini maze and an assault course. The lookout tower takes you higher than the highest trees for a fantastic view over Rainton Farm and the surrounding countryside. On a clear day, you can see the Isle of Man!
There is an entry charge for the adventure playground. Under 5s and over 60s are free.

    Cycle Hire & Routes

If exploring Cream o' Galloway's four miles of trails on foot is not enough for you, then you may be interested in hiring a bicycle to explore further afield.

The nationwide cycle route, Sustrans 7, passes directly past Cream o' Galloway, and leads you safely to Gatehouse of Fleet through woods and along off-road sections. You may purchase a map from us to help you plan longer routes if you wish.

    Dog Walks

The whole family is welcome at Cream o' Galloway, including dogs. We have designated a 7-acre field as a dog-walking area. Once inside this field, dogs can run free and owners can walk a trail or rest on a bench.
